the diagnostics connector can be found under the passenger seat alongside the ecu. Actually that's the diagnostic, what the guy wants is the OBD2, not the same thing. That plug can be found if you feel in the middle of the dashboard above the A/C controls for a clip that unclips the whole middle center of the dash and under there you can find all the fuses and the OBD2 plug
The 1997 Toyota 4Runner OBD 2 port is under driver side dash next to center console
OBD1
The OBD2 port is on the bottom of the dashboard, just to the side of the steering column.
It is an OBD2 car if that is what you are asking.
96 and up for obd2
Your 1997 Honda is already OBD2 compliant. All 1996 and newer vehicles sold in the U.S. are OBD2. To verify, look under the hood for a VECI label. The VECI label will indicate whether or not the vehicle has OBD II.
The connector should be behind the ashtray.
obd1 is basically a computer system in your car there is obd1 and obd2. obd1 is 1996 and earlier while obd2 is 1997 to now
Open the flap under the steering wheel, and you can see the 18 pin socket. Plug your OBD2 device here. However, be aware that TOYOTA uses a different protocol as I could not get to work with my OBD2 device.
Yes, 1997 is Obd 2.
