Having looked at the answers that many have given regarding this, the actual answer really is a simple one. The Tacho indicator needle on the the Terranos are a thin metallic type. Prolonged sunlight beaming onto these make these needles tend to make them warp. This cause the needle to get stuck on the face of the Tacho at certain stages. My experience has been that when you remove the glass from the front of the Gauge area, then ever so gently ease the needle back out into a straight line again, and replace the glass. Problem solved.

A faulty thermostat might cause the temp gauge on the 2000 Nissan Altima to raise to hot when the car is not overheating. A faulty thermostat can cause the gauge to move up and down and might even turn the fan on.
Some common causes of an oil leak on a Nissan are the gaskets and seals. Both break down over time and must be replaced.
A faulty camshaft can cause your 1991 Nissan Maxima to idle erratically. A diagnostic test could verify the cause of the improper idling speed.
I have just fitted a Terrano 3.0 diesel into my Double cab and dont have much boost - max 0.2bar. If I override the system and suck on the wastegate servo then boost increases up to 1.1 bar and goes well. Seems like the wastegate is normally open and needs the extra vacuum to close it and provide the boost needed. I havent done any more development , but need to find out if I can get that vacuum needed from the inlet or if the control system is faulty. Maybe yours is doing the same thing. Drew
My ignition relay was damaged and it caused my starter to go out, which cause my car to shut down.
