Type your answer here... For a 4.6l get a half inch breaker bar and insert that into the belt tensioner to loosen the belt, then disconnect the power cable (on the top of the alternator) then remove the bolts sorry can't remember what size the bolts are
Dime sized bolts.
15 millimeter and/or 13mm.
The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse alternator retaining bolt size is 9/16 by 3.5 inches long. There will be three alternator retaining bolts.
The belt tensioner for the AC/Alternator belt is beneath the alternator. Facing the engine from bumper you can see the ac/alternator belt tensioner on the left side and beneath the alternator. Losen that bolt with size 12 socket. Next, loosen the tensioner bolt until the belt loosens. Now, with the Power Steering Belt you can loosen it by locating the belt tensioner usually found inside of the power steering belt on the power steering pump. Loosen both bolts and if needed pry UP the power steering belt tensioner and the belt should loosen. Repeat until belt comes off. Installation is the reversal of removal. NOTE: You may have to pry down the power steering pump tensioner to tighten the belt.
just take the bolts out i think there size 8mm
first unhook the battery, then release the automatic belt tensioner and remove the belt, then unbolt the alternator and disconnect the wiring from the alternator....to reinstall, reverse the removal procedure
Belt Tensioner All engines use an automatic drive belt tensioner. On the 7.5L engine, there are two belts; one uses the automatic tensioner, while the alternator belt requires periodic tensioning. On all belts using an automatic tensioner, no adjustment is necessary because the tensioner adjusts for belt wear. To adjust the tension on the 7,5L engine alternator belt, loosen the adjusting bolts and rotate the alternator until the proper tension is on the drive belt and tighten the adjusting bolts. It is recommended that the belt tension indicator mark be inspected with the engine OFF at 60,000 mile (96,000 km) intervals. If the wear indicator mark is out of specification, the drive belt is worn or an incorrect drive belt has been installed. The 4.6L, 5.4L, 6.8L, all have one belt and one belt tensioner. Look at the diagram on top of the radiator or somewhere in the engine compartment. 1/2" ratchet / or 1/2" beaker bar will do the trick.
The top are 8 mm and the bottom are 10 mm Remember, that is wrench size.
