changing a timing chain on the i30 is a long and tedious process but if youre interested for about 30 dollars you can go at an autoparts store but a complete rebuilt and teardown manual for the 96-2001 and maxima it will have you to do that and more they the same engines
The 98 I30 uses the VQ30 engine which uses a timing chain and not a belt. No scheduled replacement necessary unless there is a problem (rare).
