The TCS (Traction Control System) has no bearing on the speed at which you can travel. The car will travel the same speed with the TCS on or off.
Yes, the Traction Control System (TCS) light has nothing to do with emissions.
Traction Control SystemTCS, is the Traction Control System. You will see the light come on or flicker when the TCS is activated. If the light says TCS OFF, then turn it back on and leave it on.if tcs illuminates, it means tracion control is activated. however, if tcs off/tcs both illuminate, it means pcm has stopped communicating with tcm, and most of the time, the car then is put in "limp home" mode. when both tcs off/tcs illuminate, there are a whole bunch of reasons why
TCS got an innovation from Micheal Schumahar (Ferrari) who is a former world champion in Formula One Car Championship
The TCS (traction Control System) light will come on anytime it senses a wheel has lost traction.
when the car is moving, and traction control is enabled(tcs), tcs lite will flash, and generally, power will be reduced. when traction is restored, the lite goes off, and it drives normal. however, on the 2.3, if something goes wrong with the abv circuit, like a vacuum leak, then the pcm puts the car in limp home mode. pcm stops communicating with tcm, tcs off/tcs lites come on, and the car will not go above 2500 rpm. that has nothing to do with traction, it has to do with boost. since pcm can no longer control the abv, it cannot control boost, so it disables it. along with a few other features My car with the same problem was fixed by replacing two solenoids which were completely dead. The car is running fine now. Prior to this the engine light was always one, and the TCS light would come on intermitently especially when going uphill.

How to give Tcs password
TCS
I have a 2000 pontiac montana. the tcs is know as traction control system. if your car is slipping a lot through water or snow, press that button and it will reduce slipping and wheel spin.
ok
