On most cars the SRS system runs a self check when the car is started, this takes a few seconds, once it's done (assuming the self check is o.k.) the SRS light goes out.

I dont worry about it since I have an older that doesnt have it installed. My 05 tauras has SRS, but when you are buying a new car your paying for safety right? If your not to concerned with the airbag you can let it go, it will be just like if your driving an old car.
