Depends on which engine. There were four cylinder gas engines, six cylinder gas engines, and an inline four diesel engine.
my 87 just had this problem...it was the mass air flow sensor. if its not that try the computer my 86 had the same problem, it was the Mass Air Flow Sensor
If the truck has a V 8 engine their is none , these engines still have a distributor located in the front of the engine.

If your 1991 Mitsubishi Mighty Max dies after you start it up it could be one of several issues. There can be issue with the batter, fuel relay, or distributor.
