If you have led lights when the brake light warning switch is closed (foot on brake) because it has a predetermined voltage and the rig is change to led's there is a different voltage used, hence an error warning light. can get around it by adding the original lamp in series with the brake circuit out of the way somewhere say under the dash.
This is most likely the Brake Warning Light. It's usually obvious because it says BRAKE under it but perhaps not always. This indicator light is usually located bottom center of the tachometer gauge.
Sounds like the low coolant warning light Check the coolant level
The 1983 through to 1985 have a low fuel warning light and no reserve switch. The warning light is hooked to a sensor which is in the secondary fuel tank under the seat.
The alternator is either over or under charging.
Takes a code reader to plug in under dash.
Check on the upper end of the brake pedal under dash area
probably a short in the steering column wiring or check lower down on the steering shart under the dash for hanging wires
On a ( 1996 ) Mercury Tracer , the " check engine " warning light is at theBOTTOM of your instrument panel under the right hand side of the fuel gauge ( under the " F " )
Sounds like the tire low pressure warning light. You may have a leak in one of your tires. Check the pressure in all of your tires. The one with the lowest pressure needs to be repaired. You can get free repair at any Discount Tire location. You can also reset the light with a button under the steering console.

Under the hood next too the windshield wiper motor. If you remove it, your brake warning light and abs warning light will remain on constantly. However, all your lights will function normally.
