Probably a bad oxygen sensor. Lean bank one implies that more air than desired in the air/fuel mixture is being burned by the engine, or in the case of a "V" engine, the bank with cylinder 1. This could be caused by a lack of fuel, vacuum leak or fading output from the oxygen sensor in your exhaust pipe among other things.
Bank one fuel system lean. Test fuel pressure, check for vacuum leaks,
It is rich or lean bank 1 or 2 i am not sure which one it is but i know it is rich or lean code they have the same codes as ford.
This means that the Oxygen sensor #1 on bank one went lean and stayed lean for longer than allowed.Look for in this order:Cylinders miss-firingVacuum leaksExhaust manifold leaksFaulty sensor.
it is your 02 sensor/ bank one usally means the one before your cat. convertor "Lean Bank One" means that the first bank of cylinders, or 3 cylinders on your V6, are not getting enough fuel to mix with the air, hence the term "lean". This is usually solved by cleaning the fuel injectors, and this is most likely your problem, because if the fuel filter or pump were clogged you would have gotten a code of "Lean Bank One" and "Lean Bank Two". It is possible it could have something to do with your oxygen sensor, and the first answer mentioned, because this sensor measures exhaust gas and sends a voltage signal to the computer telling it how rich or lean the engine is running.
If you are getting codes for bank 1 and bank 2 lean, then yes it is a possibility.
system to lean bank one 02 sensor ?
po171 means System too lean in bank 1 ,translation o2 sensor bad, probably the one before catalytic converter, but could be one after cat.
Bank one is "LEAN" - get a good bottle of Fuel Injector Cleaner and see if that helps.
Too lean bank one check fuel pressure-your pump is probably going out.
Bank one fuel system rich.
Catalytic converter failure bank one.Catalytic converter failure bank one.
Too much air in comparison to fuel-check fuel pressure, if ok, look for a leaking/damaged vacuum hose, typically it will be the one attached to the air cleaner developed a split. Any unmetered air entering engine could cause this code
