Answer: For a 1987 300zx ....Before Beginning remove the high and low pressure hoses from the pump. I would recommend unbolting the vacuum tank if equipped,(small black container with vacuum lines located above pump at front of engine compartment) with 1 10mm bolt and move aside, and remove the coolant resovoir (2 screws) and place aside. 1. Looking at the top of the pump behind the pulley you will see a 14mm bolt, this needs to be loosened first. 2. At lower front of the pump is a bolt that retains the adjuster to the adjuster bracket , this bolt is loosened. 3. Under the pump is the adjusting bolt (12mm), loosen this bolt and push the pump to relieve tension on the belt and remove the belt. 4. Remove the bolt seururing the adjusting bar itself and the bolts at the rear of the pump along with the engine lift bracket. 5. Apologize to neighbors for cursing and remove the pump. Reverse to install..... Very easy compared to doing the alternator.......
