Clockwise, watch the distributor and you can confirm this. Look at the firing order and you can reconfirm this
Looking for a firing order I found a website for everyone with the same problem look in about.com auto repairs do it yourself for a complete listing of firing orders first by year then by make then by model
if you pick up a haynes manual it has the firing order and wiring order. anyway if you look on your distributor cap all the numbers have either an E or an I its for intake side and exaust side if your looking at the engine from the front its just 1234 on both sides 1E to the first plug on the right and 1 I to the first plug on the left and so on
go to auto zone and enter your vehicles info.,then look up specs.and it will tell you.

If you look on the intake manifold of any engine you will find the firing order.
WITH OUT A DIAGRAM IT IS NOT LIKELY THAT THE FIRING ORDER COULD BE EXPLANED VERY WELL BECAUSE YOU NEED TO KNOW THE CYLINDER HEAD COUNT ORDER .AND THE DISTRIBUTER CAP # S TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM .THE VG30E ENGINE FIRING ORDER IS SHOWN CLEARLY IN THE CHILTONS MANUAL CHAPER 2 PAGE 4 . Look on the generator stand..it reads Zundfolge, 1- 4 -3- 2 ...thats the firing order..O.K.?
The firing order is : 123456 # 1 will be on the left side front, nearest the pullys as you look at engine.
Look on the intake there should be a firing order on that. being a four cylinder the order probaly is 1,3,4,2
The 93 - 97 firing order is 1-3-2-4. this is wrong for a 96 altima with dc it is 1234 on engine and the cap is numbered thank u a**hole for giving a wrong answer 93 97 yeah right made me look like an a** got it fixed now!!!!!!! bi**h it is 1342
