The expansion valve is located with the evaporator. You have to evacuate the system then disconnect the ac lines at the firewall. Then remove the glove box, undo connectors, and then remove the bolts that hold the evaporator case to the HVAC assembly. Slide the case out and then remove the clips and screws that hold the upper and lower halves together. Once you get it apart you will see the expansion valve. Also, take note of the electrical temperature probe's location in the evaporator. When you replace the valve and wind the thermostatic bulb's line around the evaporator's pipe take some black tar tape and wrap the expansion valve and lowside pipe. Doing that will make it more efficient.
You should also replace the receiver drier if you hadn't already done so. Don't forget that you will have to add some oil to the system for the components you replace.
