There are three main possible causes to explain why a car air conditioner is blowing hot air. These causes are a worn out compressor, refrigerant leak, and an electrical problem.
The most likely cause of no air blowing out of the air conditioner is a bad fan motor. It could also be a blown fuse, electrical short, or control panel. These are a few places to start looking for the problem.
There is a problem, and because this is a complex system with many possible causes it needs to be checked by a knowledgeable person.
When there is a problem in the vent system it defaults to defrost setting. Check the doors & vac supply

Try getting it re-gassed? This must be done by a qualified aircon person. If this isn't the problem, they will probably tell you what it is.
There was no problem.
