The best thing to do is to drive it to the nearest auto parts store where they will check your charging system for free. You can check the output voltage yourself with a digital volt meter set to the DC 20 volt scale. With the engine running connect the red test lead to the red positive post of the battery and the black test lead to the black negative battery post. You should have a reading of close to 13.5 to 15.5 volts if the alternator is putting out the correct voltage.
