Rear Drum Brake Removal / 99 Honda Civic LX
Removing the drum on an LX is totally different from the SE. An axle nut holds the drum on. To remove this nut, get a flat head screwdriver and a hammer. Pry off the gold hubcover in the the center of the lugstuds. This will reveal a gold axle nut. Use the flat head screwdriver to remove the crimp on the nut so you can turn it. The nut is very large so be prepared with an 1" to an 1" 1/2 socket for removal. Once it's removed, it's smooth sailing.
They will be drum or disk. Just look and see. More than likely they are disk brakes.
To change the clutch on a 1993 Honda Civic the car will need to the safely raised. Remove the starter, shift cables, wire harness, and other components found on the transmission. Unbolt the motor mount and mounting bolts for the transmission and safely lower it. Replace the clutch disk and throttle body.
1989 Honda Civic models did not come with ABS. The car was a smaller compact hatchback and used basic front disk brakes with rear drums.
You need an impact driver wrench. But be careful, the heads of the screws strip easily.
You will need to remove the tire and wheel from your 1986 Honda Accord. Remove the brake caliper and the brake spring. The disk brakes will come off. Reverse the process to install the new front disc brakes.

what year?front or back? for the most part , all you do is remove wheel, remove caliper,then pull brake disk off if disk is a rear disk, the park brake is inside the disk and you will need to use a hammer to tap on disk to remove it. once the wheels are off there are only a couple of clips on some of the wheek studs to keep disk in place. the disk is actually held to vehicle with the wheel and lug nuts

Remove the brake caliper and hang it out of the way, then thread 2 8 mm bolts into the holes provided on the disk. Screw them in and the brake rotor will come off.
