In the centre of the door panel is a 400mm grey plastic moulding. In the top of this is the bit of the door panel you actually stick your hand in to pull the door shut. Pry this piece out with a flat-blade screwdriver, butterknife, etc.
Behind that there are 2 screws. Remove these.
Go round the whole of the interior panel and pull the plastic studs out.
If you want to remove the top part of the panel, containing the interior door handle:
* On the interior door handle there is a screw. Remove it. * Push the interior door handle towards the front of the car and pull out slightly. * Unclip the rod from the interior door handle. Don't just try to pull it out. * At the front centre of the top section, visible from inside the car, is a plastic fastener. At the bottom rear is another, concealed under the lower panel. Unscrew these (you may need to hold the outer part to prevent it from rotating as you unscrew the inner), then pop them out.
At this point the lower panel is attached by the window winder. I couldn't figure out how to remove the window winder, but the whole panel can rotate around it, giving you access to the insides of the door.
If you need access to the inside of the door:
* Carefully peel back the vapour barrier on the door. The black paste is sticky and will reseal later, but try to not get too much of it on the door panel.
If you need to remove the door handle:
* Ensure the window is wound all the way up. * Remove two bolts securing the rear window guide rail. Now this guide can be flexed a little out of the way. * There is a silver metal part approximately 100mm tall securing the door handle and lock assembly. Optionally remove the bolt at the bottom. * At the top of this piece are two nuts, securing the door handle. The front one of these is easily removed. * The rear one is trickier, and must be accessed from the front side with a spanner (or wrench or pliers). To see what you are doing as you get tools onto this nut, there is a small access hole on the interior door panel covered by a plastic stick-on cover. Peel this cover off. * Pull the exterior door handle out. * Disconnect the rod on the exterior door handle. If you need to remove the lock:
* Inside the door panel is a gold-colored retaining clip. Pull this forward to remove it. * Disconnect the rod from the lock. * Take the lock out from the outside of the door.
