It takes between 6 and 8 hours to change the head gasket on a Dodge. The actual time will vary based on the skill level of the mechanic and the availability of tools.
it takes about 2 to 3 hrs,but have your head remilled or else head will warp or leak
14 hours if you know what ur doing
i read seven hours
One man drove his car for 2 weeks with a broken head gasket before he blew his engine. Another drove it for 3 weeks. A head gasket costs several dollars if you can change it yourself. A new engine over a thousand. One mechanic can change a head gasket in an hour for $ 100. Other mechanics are no where near as good and take longer. It may be more in your area. How long do you want to go and how much do you want to pay?
Not very long as it is only an emergency repair. The only fix for a blown head gasket is to replace it.
Depends on skill level. a few hours to a few days
depends on what engine the 4 cylinder should take a day if you have all the tooling
you dont, you will kill the engin!
If it is running out between the block and the head, you probably blew a head gasket. If that is the case, be sure and have the cylinder head resurfaced before you re-install it after you change out the gasket. A blown head gasket is usually caused by warpage of the head when it overheats. TIP: as long as the head is going to be resurfaced, you might also get the valves reground.
Allow a good 8 hours if you haven't done one before.
Never use sealant for a head gasket! It is used as a quick fix for cracks in the gasket but will not last very long. Safer to get the job done correctly.
