The coolant temp sensor is the two wire sensor located near to where the upper radiator hose hooks to the engine.
The computer decides to run the fans off of the signal from the engine coolant temp (ect) sensor and the air conditioning pressure. The ect is the two wire sensor nearest to the upper rad hose on the engine.
Under the Distrubutor housing, 2 wire prong.
ect sensor 1996 nissan pathfinder location?>
IAT= intake are temperature sensor ECT= engine coolant temp. sensor
The ect should be inbetween the injectors on the drivers side of the motor, just below the intake where it says 2.3 efi kinda hard to see but with a flashlight you will see it, there is a wire plug connector that connects to the top of the sensor. PITA!!! and that is all there is to that
location of engine cooling fan sensor
The ECT or the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is a switch. This switch is located on the bottom of the radiator in the 1996 Camry.
P2185 is ECT sensor high voltage detected. ECT stands for Engine coolant Temperature Sensor.
The ect stands for engine coolant temperature. It is the sensor that lets the computer know how warm the engine is.
More than Likely its a coroded connector at the sensor.
