How do you reset the maintenance required light on the instrument cluster on a 2003 Honda Civic?
With your key in the "on" position but your "not" running. Disconnect the positive battery cable and leave off for a few minutes. Turn the key off at the end of the wait and plug the battery back in. If the code is cleared the light should be reset. If it comes back on, the trouble is still there.
There is another way of course... I've seen the worker at the Honda dealership use the trip/arrows and other buttons on the instrument panel to read the code and to turn off the maint. req. light on my S2000. He said that it is timed to go off when the next oil change is required.
Does anybody know how to do this without disconnecting the battery?

Ahhh I found it, from http://www.photoslave.com/journal/auto/s2000_maint.html : To reset the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light: - Have key inserted in ignition but in the OFF or LOCKED position. - Push and hold the trip reset button on the right bottom corner of your gauge clutster. - Turn key to full ON position and continue holding the button till the light goes off.
