To replace a light bulb, you have to: if its in the front, you have to open up the hood and look for the screws that are connected to the lights. For the back, you have to: open the trunk, and unscrew the light bulb, open it up and replace it.
Remove the battery head(+v) for a while, then replace it and star the engine.

Not sure if this helps or not but on a 2005 Toyota Sienna LE, the dash-light dimmer switch is actually the trip odometer reset switch. Turning the trip odometer reset switch left or right controls the dash-light levels. Had it not been for the factory manual, and Google, I would have never known this.
If the tail light on the passenger side of a 1999 Toyota Sienna CE is out, it is most likely a blown bulb. The bulbs can be purchased at any auto parts store.
