Place a pan below the vehicle to catch the draining coolant.
Remove the surge tank cap.
Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
Drain the coolant.
Reconnect the lower radiator hose.
Fill the cooling system through the surge tank with a
mixture of ethylene glycol antifreeze and water. The
mixture must be at least 50 percent antifreeze, but
not more than 60 percent antifreeze for cold weather
operation.
open the upper timing belt cover the first thing lower to crankshaft is water pump.
Check your water pump the impeller tends to corrode away and not pump water

check your water or coolant level If coolant level is ok, replace the thermostat.
Use only Honda Coolant unless you want to replace the water pump which will be damaged if you use any coolant with sliicates in it. Also use distilled water not tap water. Honda sells a premixed coolant for around $5 a quart. Money well spent.
The best way to replace the coolant elbow is to remove the water pump and insert the new elbow before inserting the bolts for the water pump. Check that there are no pieces of the old plastic elbow lodged inside. Replace both elbows (if so equipt) at the same time.
