Take off lower plastic shield covering the column. There should be about 5 bolts, 4 10mm and 1 phillips. Put key in and turn to acc, look on bottom of ignition lock cylinder housing , you will see a small recessed hole with a button you can push in. Push it and then remove cylinder. Again key must be acc to remove

there is a small pin you can see through the plastic on the steering column in front of the ignition. you insert the key and push the pin to release the cylinder. you may need to remove wheel to get to it though.
It is easy. Turn the key to the accessory position and depress the retainer pin located about an inch and a quarter from the front of the lock on the bottom.

goto Toyota and get the magic key programing secquience it will be something like open door, insert key, remove key rub top of head, just like the secret level on playstation................and the secquence is very spsfic to you year model, other year/model secquences will not work, i have tried over a dozen of them, looking for the one that works on a 2000 tacoma
You need to disconnect the battery, after that remove plastic and metal cover underneath the steering wheel. After that you get access to the key cylinder, disconnect the harness, remove nuts. Install a new key cylinder, tighten the nuts, connect the harness to. Install the plastic and metal cover. Connect the battery. You might want to try the cylinder before installing plastic cover.
I also have a 98 tacoma and my key wont turn the door lock I took it to the dealership an they ordered me a new cylinder and they are going to rekey it for me thats what im doing. Your cylinder or plastic on the back of the cylinder could of broke
You will need to remove the retaining ring at the top of your 2003 Kia ignition cylinder. The ignition cylinder will slide out. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the ignition cylinder.
Most likely the ignition cylinder where you put your key before to start your car is broken. You have to remove it and test wires in different positions of the key.
The lock cylinder is most likely bad. Otherwise if you're trying to remove the key from the car make sure it is fully in park.
