To remove the instrument panel from the 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse, carefully pull back the pod. Take care not to lose any of the clips.

i currently have the same prob...to my understanging the stock stereo runs along with the dash lighting, so did you remove the stock stereo? also check fuses on the driver kick panel
