It's no big deal to rebuild a Holley carb. Simply buy the rebuild kit from a local auto parts store or mail order shop, like Jeg's or Summit Racing. The rebuild kit will contain all the little gaskets and small parts that are wear & tear items. I recommend you have a couple cans of spray carb cleaner or even a gallon dip-can of carb cleaner to soak parts in. Careful, this stuff is potent. Set yourself a clean workbench. I recommend you lay down some clean white paper on the work bench to lay out all your parts as you disassemble, clean & reassemble. Just follow the instructions in the rebuild kit box. It's really easy. I rebuilt my first carb when I was 16 years old with no problems. Clean up the excess gunk & oil buildup before you disassemble. Follow the instructions step by step to the letter. The carb will have two fuel bowls, front & back to remove with 4 bolts or screws. The base of the carb will also come off from the main body. Follow the instructions, don't panic. It comes apart easy and goes back together easy. Careful-on reassembly of the fuel bowls, the accelator pump arm sometimes gets out of place. Make sure the pump arm is directly up against the bottom of the fuel bowl as you put the bowls back on. Always install a new power valve. When in doubt, install a power valve. They go "out" often. Light cars use about a 6.5 power valve. Trucks & 4x4s usually use a 7.5 power valve. I think it's a good idea to have vaccuum gauge in the cab to watch engine vaccuum, a great tool for carb motors.
