The clutch pedal has an assist spring and return spring. The assist spring tension must be adjusted to create a balance point at which the clutch pedal will over center and return to the fully disengaged position. It is also possible that the system may have air or the push rod attached to the pedal may be out of adjustment.

Sounds like you have broken the 'clutch return spring' in the transmission or if it's hydraulic you may be out of clutch fluid (leaking)

Adjustments is behind top of the clutch pedal. Clutch spring should be under the car on the transmission closest to the motor block, next to the slave cylinder.

just disconect the master cylinder from the pedal it should just be on with a cotter pin and then there is a long bolt going through the brake and clutch pedal take the nut off the and and bring the bolt out just far enough to get the clutch pedal out. the clutch pedal might be hard to get out just play with it youll get it eventually. then to install the new one just put the bushings on the new one and do everything again but in reverse. hope this helps
