My 95 Tercel had a bad rear main that leaked at least 1 qt. per 1000 mi. Found Toyota mechanic who was willing to do some side work and cost less than 200.00 Not bad considering engine must be removed. If you do this I recommend having front and rear seals and new timing belt installed.Perfect time to do .Add a valve cover gasket and your good to go

When you do a oil change on a 1986 Toyota Tercel it holds 4.5 quarts of oil. As recommended in the owners manual always double check your dipstick after changing the oil and putting in new oil.
4 quarter of oil
Remove oil pan for access
it is a pit which is used to drain leakage oil of transformers .AnswerIt's a walled area, surrounding a transformer, intended to contain any oil leakage from a transformer.
Make sure that you have enough oil in the system (oil level should between two marks on the oil stick). If you have severe leakage you need to fix it because your system might not even reach required level. If the light is flashing even after you have fixed the leak and level is proper you will have to check you oil filter and oil pump (this one is very pricey fix).
I dont think you could change the Transmission oil for the 1996 Toyota Tercel. Its sealed.

A '93 Tercel will take very close to four quarts of oil. Now I am not 100% sure but i think that the tranny will hold close to four quarts of gear oil.
