You need to replace the oil seal.
You do not have many choices either replace it or if the leak is not sufficient buy one of those leak fix bottles.
Oil can either be burned, or it can leak
There are some oil additives you can get, that might stop the leak. But if the leak has developed, the only way to fix it is to replace the seal.
Cover suspected area with talcum powder or similar substance to try to determine where leak originates Valve cover? Engine Seal? Timing chain cover? Oil filter? Oil sending unit?
Also I noticed when I took the oil cap off it looked like a rubber substance on top instead of just liquid.....Please help!!

Shampoo the engine to clean it. Check for leaks in a day or so depending on how bad the leak is. Replace the component causing the leak. If you still can't find the leak you can put dye in the engine oil and look for the leak with a black light.
A 1987 Toyota Camry will take 5 quarts of oil. The type of oil the Camry uses is 10 W 30.
The 2011 Toyota Camry takes SAE 0W20 motor oil. That is the best oil for that vechile.
You can either replace the gasket which is leaking or buy additive for oil. The last works only in cases when leaks are not severe.
A 1999 Toyota Camry needs four quarts of oil :-)
