honestly this is not something you want to get into unless you know what you are doing. the crankshaft and cams need to be in time. even one or two teeth of can cause bent valves. i would recommend taking your car to a Hyundai dealership. but if you are serious about it repost your question after you find out if your engine is DOHC or SOHC then i will gladly explain thet are and interference engine and can be difficult, the single cams are much easier and usually can be done alone, but the twin cams you will need a hand from a buddy or you can buy a camshaft locking tool online that will make sure the camshafts wont turn on you, because they love to turn a few degrees by them selves

The thermostat in a 1998 Hyundai Accent is located on the engine block. The thermostat can be found by following the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
They have a timing belt they usually recomend to change it every 50,000 miles. other wise it could more expensive
