If you have the 3.0L the pcv valve is located under the fuel rail under the intake manifold. You cannot remove with finger power...The valve turns out counter clockwise with some force.
The manufacturers of Mazda Tribute placed the PCV valve of a 3.0L V6 AUTO 200HP under the Lower Engine Manifold attached to a hard black metal rectangular shaped housing in the center of the engine. It will be sticking out of the end. The PCV should be black round plastic material. It is similar to the Ford Focus or Ford Escape PCV version. Although when you search the internet or at certain stores, it may be metal. This type will not fit my Mazda Tribute. Also, the Upper Manifold ( the black plastic compartment), ignition rails and the spark plug harness over the engine must be carefully removed. I had to also removed the radiator hose at the end of the lower manifold to gain access.
in what location can I find the pcv valve on my 2002 chevy tahoe

Where is the PCV Valve on a Mazda B2300 2003
It is problem with catalyst bank 2, catalytic converter, 02 sensor, pcv system, air leaks.
Change the PCV valve located on the valve cover
You are gonna have a rough idle and a loss of power but its still drivable
Pcv valve on a 3.0L V6 Mazda tribute is buried under the intake manifold. It is approximately under the throttle valve. It is NOT inserted into a rubber grommet in the rocker cover. It is screwed into the lower intake manifold. Use a deep 7/8" 12 point socket to twist it 90 degrees to the left to remove it and reverse this to put it in. Be sure to replace the PCV valve when replacing the spark plugs since all needs to have the intake manifold removed to get to them.Normally located on top of the valve cover.AnswerMost are inserted into a rubber grommet in the rocker cover.
Unfortunately,, the Mazda engineers located the PCV valve on the 3.0L engines under the intake manifold--essentially right under the throttle body. You can't see it until you pull the upper intake manifold off. I would definitely change out the PCV valve if you are replacing the spark plugs since the manifold has to come off to get to the back 3 spark plugs. A big hint here,, the pcv valve has to be turned 90degrees to the left to get it out of the housing.. a 7/8" 12 point deep socket seems to work. Look at your new pcv valve and you will see what I mean. Once you finally feed in the new pcv valve,, it must be turned 90degrees to the right to get it onto place. A 12" set of needle nose pliers might help also to get the hose off the pcv valve. Gerald
