Take out the back seat bottom (lift up front and remove carefully)
Take out the back seat back (One bolt in center bottom)
Note upper shock tower.
Loosen 1/2 to 1 turn two bolts on the side of the center bolt. (Do not remove center nut)\
Jack up car Put on stands and remove wheel
Place floor jack on axle on side of the shock you are going to remove. Snugg up but don't raise.
Remove shock nut on bottom of shock assembly.
Remove bolts on top from inside car.
lower the axel to relieve pressure on lower shock pin.
Slide shock off pin and remove it veom the vehicle.
To change the strut you need a coil spring compressor and the appropriate wrenches. Do not remove the top nut without having the coils compressed or it will fly apart. replacing the strut is pretty much universal except for the torques. you can find detailed instructions on the web.
Once changed replace in the car, do the other one when both are complete reverse the above steps and test.
Sometimes it is a good idea to stroke the new strut 5 or 6 times before installing to equalize the pressures and remove any trapped gass bubbles that develop on the stock shelf or in manufacturing. It is also a good test to see if that new shock performs better than the removed one.

The rear are shocks the front has struts. Rears shocks are a snap to change. Front struts should only be changed if you have the proper tools and knowledge as it can be dangerous.
I just don't. Take it to shop.
4, two front and two rear, I recently had to change the rears anyway, since it was misreading its information and causing the service engine light to come on and they wouldn't pass my emissions inspection.
