you have to get underneath the car and remove the drain bolt on the oil pan which is right under the block. don't unscrew the transmission drain plug! let all the oil drain out, then remove your oil filter. it's on the back of the block between the motor and firewall. replace with a new filter, put the drain plug back in, fill with 4 quarts of new oil and start.
