Using a 12mm open ended wrench un bolt the shocks from each and while supporting hood

If you buy replacements at AutoZone or some place like that ($25/ea), it will require a 10mm open end to reinstall. Simple job, but probably would help to have someone hold up the hood while you un-install and re-install. BTW, I found it extremely hard to line up the connection points on the new cylinders...it takes a lot of strength and a pair of gloves. Don't scratch the shiny plunger with anything or it will destroy the seal and leak all the gas out.
Look forward to a bill of over $2000! I had my 92 Lexus LS400 converted for $2,456! :(
You can find navigation wiring diagrams for your 1998 through 2000 Lexus at most Lexus dealerships. Lexus service manuals will have the diagrams and can be found at most local libraries.

Struts
struts
not hard at all,you will need a spring compressor
Here is a how-to for a 2000 S-series. All s-series struts are the same http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67077
Since the Windstar has both struts (front) and shocks (rear), both procedures are covered in the 2 "Related Questions" below
Since Lexus engine design is fairly optimal from the factory, increases in HP from things as K&N air filters or cold air intake may not be worthwhile. If you really want to keep the car and money is no object, look into turbocharging or supercharging. Otherwise, the common sense answer is to shop for a 1998-2000 LS400, their engines feature 290 hp and are noticably more powerful than the earlier cars.
