Their are two types of starter motor (mando or poongsung) on a 2.9 td sedona 2004, remove earth terminal from battery and isolate, remove (small) earth cabel push type connection from s/motor, remove power cabel 12mm bolt from s/motor, remove two 17mm fitting bolts which hold the body of the s/motor to the housing, one is easily accessed bolts into housing through s/motor, the other is reversed i.e bolts into s/motor through housing on left side of engine viewed from underneath the vehicle, the work needs to be done from underneath the vehicle. To fit reverse order to above.

Hi, I had the same problem with my 2004 sedona. It sometimes took 2 or 3 tries to get it to turn over. Steadily getting worse. the fault is the starter motor and it will need replacing unfortunately.
