under routine tuneup, you dont. engine idle speed is controlled by the ECM automatically. HOWEVER, if during a rebuild of the throttle body, there is a base idle speed adjustment screw that is capped and sealed at the factory. Adjustment of this screw is not usually required. if there is an idle speed problem first check for vacuum leaks followed by a dirty or malfunctioning idle air control valve (this will set a check engine light usually)
You can not adjust the idle screw, it is sealed off at the factory. If you are having a high idle problem check for a vacuum leak or a bad idle air control valve. These will commonly cause a high idle.

The idle on my 1995 Chevy Cavalier stays at 600rpm's when i check it with the scanner. Hope this helps BE SAFE dirt420ba
NO you can not. The idle is computer controlled and should NEVER be fooled with. If it won't idle right then you need to have the engine scanned with an engine scanner so you can get a ideal of what the problem might be.
Idle is computer controlled by the pcm (computer)-not adjustable.
The 2.2L and 2.4L uses a chain.a bad chain or tensioner will make the oil light come on at idle
You don't. The Idle is controlled by the ECM. There are no idle adjustments
The idle speed on a 1987 Chevy Celebrity is controlled by the engine computer, there is no way provided to adjust it.
idle speed for a 99 Tahoe
The 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier idle air control valve can be found on the firewall in the engine compartment. The valve will be on the passenger side of the firewall.
there is a screw on the carb right where the throttle cable hooks to it that you use to adjust the idle.
The idle is control by the idle air control motor from outputs from the Engine Control Module.
