1. Open the back door and remove anything from the back; and then raise the lid to where you can see the spare tire.
2. Remove the cover over the storage compartment on the left and take everything out of it; you will see 2 screws holding the compartment in; remove them and then gently remove the compartment from under the cloth fender cover.
3. Gently pull the cloth fender cover back till you can get your hand and arm behind it; do this from the part close to the brake light on the left, near the gas cap of course.
4. When you reach back into where the gas cap is, there is a white locking motor with it's wire plugged into it. You will feel a plastic tab sticking out of the back of it. Moving it back will release the lock and the door will open.
5. You can now leave the door open until you get to the dealer and they will replace that motor for about $250 or you can reach in where the gas cap is and twist the white cap that holds it in place, remove the motor from the hole back into the trunk compartment, and then unplug it and forget it.

On the fuel door side of the Trunk free the plastic fastners attaching the inner trunk lining. This should allow you to see a small metal lever attached to the electronic solenoid. Pulling this to the rear will free the stuck door.
The usual reason that a door will not open from the inside on a Nissan truck is because the door handle is broken on the inside. The door panel will have to be removed and the door handle repaired or replaced to open the door from the inside again.
