The thermostat in the 2002 b2300 Mazda pickup truck is located on the engine block, facing the drivers side of the vehicle, towards the front of the engine and in back of the the radiator. It has hoses that come out of it and sensor wires.
There are three bolts that hold it in. After removing the 2 radiator hoses, the sensor terminal/receptacle, and screws, the whole unit comes out as one piece.
My particular thermostat went bad and stuck in the closed posistion. This resulted in my temp gage/enging never reacing full operating temperature.
