The check engine light in a 2004 Toyota Tacoma can come on for many reasons. It could indicate an exhaust leak or a problem with the engine.
um yeah it does have one
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
The Check Engine Light has nothing to do with oil changes. It is on because there is a problem with the emissions system.
After the repair, you reset it with an OBD2 scan tool.
This could mean any number of things. I have a 98 Tacoma and the "check engine" light has only come on once in 8 years ... and that was because I didn't have a gas cap at the time!
take postive side of battery off then put back on
The check engine light comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, a check engine light is lit when there is a problem in the emissions or somthing that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions. If the check engine light is flashing a misfire has been detected
How do you know the gas cap is responsible for the Check Engine light? The computer will have to be cleared by a repair shop with a scanner.
check your abs fuse.
You read the codes with a scanner, repair the cause, and clear the code with the scanner.
take off the positive cable on the bettery and turn on the key switch for 5 minuts then put battery cable back on and the check engine light should be off
Repair the problem that turned it on and then clear the code with an OBD2 scanner/code reader
