i have a 1993 Toyota camry.Looking for 2.2 camshaft marks, in book are vague need to know identifing marks to align properly.

There is a o or a < on the cam pulley that lines up with a mark on the head. The crank shaft is brought to the 0 degree mark on the timing cover. Then you put the belt on. You could do it the hard way and bring cylnder 1 to TDC and then rotate the cam so the valves for that cylinder are closed and then put the belt on.

Toyota tercel,canry timing markif it have a 2.0 engine sfe the timing mark is on the crankshaft balancer,which must be line up with the timing belt cover,timing mark.also the camshaft pulley there is a mark on it,that must be line up with with the mark on the back boardof the pulley.now you got it.most Toyota time the same way.
To align the cams in a 1996 Toyota Camry, first be sure the number one piston is at the top dead center position. After this is put into place, the lower timing cover and the crankshaft pulley should have a temporary notch that is lined up with the zero mark on the timing cover. A small hole in the crankshaft gear should be pointing straight up and lining up with a mark on the front cam bearing housing. There should be no slack in the timing belt, and the engine should then be rotated a few times by hand to make sure that the marks are still aligned.
