After some negotiation, I was able to get a Nissan dealer to replace them for about $600, including parts and labor.
Yes
how much is it going to cost me to replace the back struts on my Nissan maxima
It is common to have a knocking or clunking noise of a 99 Nissan Altima, even after the struts have been replaced. This may be due to worn ball joints. It is best to replace the ball joints, too.
I was just quoted $225ish by Crown Nissan Winnipeg. A bit high for my liking!
www.partstrain.com 70$ each more if your upgrading
struts front. shocks rear.
yes when I put on lowering springs, the back seat had to be taken out
front has struts and the rear haas shocks
You will need to compress the strut spring with a spring compressor. Be very careful as the spring will be under several hundred pounds of pressure. Remove the nuts on each and of the strut. Reverse the process to install the new strut.
i have a 2004 altima and have received quotes for the 2 front struts. one quote is as high as 300 dollars per side..parts, labor, tire balance and front end alignment. this quote is based upon Nissan parts, or what a Nissan dealership would charge to do it. the mechanic said it would be less..but he wouldn't say how much more less. 2nd quote is 115 per side..that's all they said-with the exception that you should replace all 4 at the same time(rolling eyes) You do not have to replace all four struts at once, but you shouldn't just do one at time either. Replace them in pairs if you can't do all four. Struts are around $200 each. I would not recommend having a Nissan dealer replace them because the labor alone is going to cost way too much money; have a local certified mechanic do it instead.
On the left side of the engine when you standing facing the engine.. Its almost in inline with struts.. if u can tell where it is.
