I had this problem with my 95 sidekick. It was the fuel filter gone bad.
check the compression on it if it turns over and doesnt start you might have fried the rings
If your car doesnt start, it could be the battery. But if the car starts and you unplug the negative cable and the car turns off, its the alternator.
start with 2 1/2 turns out on high speed needle start with 1 1/2 on your low speed needle. adjust high as needed
The eight-valve engine distributor rotor turns clockwise with a firing order of 1-3-4-2. The sixteen-valve engine has the same firing order but the rotor turns counterclockwise. The number one distributor terminal is not the same for both engines. Make sure to trace the number one spark plug wire back to the distributor for verification.
i hade the same problem with mine turns out mine was caused by the distributer being faulty. not sure if it is the same with yours but it is worth a try. if that does not work try testing your O2 sensor or idle sensor. . jmm
If the engine is TOTALLY dead it is not the IAC valve
1,350-1,450 rpm (Shaft driven 2 3/8 turns out) (chain driven 2 turns out)
One thing you need to check is to make sure you have enough gas. You also need to make sure your battery has a full charge.Ê
Most often it is the starter and not the ignition.
The timer is probably bad, if it won't advance the cycle will not start.
IT TURNS OVER BUT WONT FIRE
