∙ 11y agoThe manual recommends Lucas oil, which is what I use. I use the 30 oil, but you could use 10W-30. http://lucasoilstore.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=89&products_id=743&zenid=b07fc91b0f62e86b02a2bf116fa2f23d

∙ 11y ago4-cycle oil. Whenever there is a separate cap for oil on a lawnmower, that machine takes 4-cycle oil. When you have to mix the oil with the gas in the same hole, that machine requires 2-cycle oil.

It surely depends on the type and size of lawnmower. This question is therefore impossible to answer.
If the lawnmower has two compartments one for gas and the other for the oil, then put gas in the gas and a 30w type oil in the oil compartment. Simple as that. If you have an engine with only one compartment then you'll need to check on the manufacturers suggestions which is usually 40:1 or something close.
Craftsman recommends using SAE 5W-30 motor oil for their snow thrower model 247.889571. It is important to follow the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure proper operation and prolong the lifespan of the equipment.
That will depends on the manufacturer and model of transaxle that is under the mower.
You can find owners manuals for Craftsman tiller models. You can go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action and type in the model number. The page that it sends you to will have a link to get manuals for that model. You may have to create a free account in order to access the owners manual though.
