This is more properly called resawing.

Strictly speaking what you ask cannot be done. This is because the saw kerf will take up to an eighth inch, making it impossible to get two half-inch boards from a one onch board.

A bandsaw with a wide resawing blade would be used. You will have to get/make a very stable fence arrangement with featherboards or similar. It should be at least three quarters as tall as the stock is wide.

If your boards do not have a surfaced side, joint one side before resawing.

How do i figure square feet for wood flooring?

Square feet of a room is given by multiplying length by width. You may need to break the area into rectangles for irregular shaped rooms and add up the areas of the given rectangles. Wood flooring is usually sold by board feet, unless it is parquet tiles. Board feet is a unit based on volume, considering the thickness. For purposes of covering a given area, it is simpler to measure the length and width of the flooring (using the same units you calculated the desired area of coverage). That will give you the surface area of 1 board, which you can divide into your total square feet number to cover, giving you the number of boards to buy. Remember to account for wasted board, due to cutting boards to fit, allowing extra boards to make up for the area lost in pieces you are unable to use.

What is cupping in deck boards and how do you prevent it?

Cupping is when the board curves across the width of the board. Looking at the end of the board, it's a smile. When installing the boards, look at the end to see how the grain runs. You should be able to see the growth rings in the board. The shorter rings that were closer to the center of the tree should be on the top of the board. That way if the board cups, it will do in down. That way the board will not hold water, it will run off the sides of the board. You can't really prevent it if a given board is going to cup. Screwing the deck down will help, but screws can pull through the board if it wants to cup.

Is there a national registery for chiropractors?

In the united states there are many regulating boards that chiropractors adhere to.   The national board of chiropractic examiners (NBCE) tests chiropractic students.  The NBCE gives out 5 board examinations to chiropractic students during their educational career.  Every chiropractor in the US must take these examinations.  These examinations are required by all state boards in the US in order to get licensed within a particular state.   That brings us to the next level of boards, state boards.  State boards license chiropractors to practice in a particular state.  Often state boards require background testing, fingerprinting, a doctorate in chiropractic with transcripts of your education, letters of recommendation, passing a jurisprudence examination, and passing the 5 NBCE board examinations.  The state board is the board that regulates a chiropractor's practice and provides a license to practice.  The state board is the board that a patient may make a complaint to if the patient feels that the doctor is behaving unethically. Finally there are specialist boards.  Chiropractors who have had additional training may sit before a specialist board's examination process to be given the title of being a chiropractic specialist.  Examples of this include the American Chiropractic Neurology Board or the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology.
