Iron is corroded in steam.
One camp says that you cannot use a regular iron to remove wrinkles from leather. You can use a steamer or steam press. Most dry cleaners can handle leather but it's not cheap. Others say that you can use a regular iron on the Rayon setting and using heavy brown wrapping paper between the iron and leather
Iron is to shirt as steam is to pants.
Put your leather garment on a hang and place in the bathroom. Run a hot shower and steam up the bathroom. Place the garment on a flat surface and massage out the wrinkles. If this does not work iron with a warm iron DO NOT PLACE IRON DIRECTLY ON THE GARMENT. Use brown papper as a barrior. 2-3 layers should be sufficient.
Here's some useful info from a leather coat site: "A wrinkled garment can be hung in the bathroom while you shower. If the wrinkles don't steam out by themselves, gently iron the garment at a warm setting after layering clean brown paper between the iron and the leather. Store your leather garment in a well-ventilated area and cover with a cloth to keep it dust free. Avoid storing your leather garment in plastic. Leather is porous and it needs to "breathe"."
