You could, but it's not advisable. Moisture content from the compressor has to go somewhere - usually into the drip pan, but if that overflows, it's going to wind up in the carpet, which acts like a sponge and will harbor that stale water and the associated odors until you can move the fridge and clean up the spills. Also, and spilled food inside the fridge, if it leaks out onto the carpet, could stain the carpet and/or leave bad odors in the carpet. Best to put the fridge on a surface other than carpet if at all possible.
Carpet is quite expensive to install and in order to get the long life from your carpet that you want, it is imperative that you do all that you can to keep it clean. However, professional carpet cleaning services can cost quite a bt. Therefore, it is a good idea to just do all that you can to clean the carpet on your own. Clean spots and spills immediately to prevent stains from ocurring, keep shoes off of the carpet, and vacuum frequently. If you really need to have your carpet cleaned, you may even want to consider renting a commercial carpet cleaning machine from your local rental center.
To list them all here is beyond my capabilities. If you wish to supply a Betta with all the essential vitamines and minerals etc that it needs, you should feed it specialised Betta foods and suplement it with weekly treats of live food such as mosquito larvae and daphnia.

When your Betta fish is fasting it means it is not eating, this usually happens after the Betta has bred and it will not eat until all the Betta eggs are hatched.
The Betta fish want to kill eachother. That's what all Betta fish want to do, that's a natural thing.
No, oil spills may happen in rivers and harbours too.

Any fish fry are nutritious to all carnivorous or omnivorous species. Why should Betta fry be different?
yes, currently most of all the betta fish come from china. they are found in little ponds with other betta's.
There are over 20 members of the Betta family that I know of. They are all small fish and all have the same labyrinthine breathing system. None of them have the magnificent finnage of the common Betta splendens though. Other relations of the Betta are all of the other Anabantids including the Gouramies.
If they are not too old and the female is ready, then they will mate.
