You'll need to remove the upper engine mount (dogbone). Then, with ajack under the rear of the cradle, you can unbolt the tworear cradle bolts (18mm) and lower the cradle down to get access to the front of the engine. From there it is simply unbolting the two bolts that hold the coolant crossover pipe and removing the hoses.
i have a 85 fiero gt. i had the same problem. the coolant would boil out of the coolant tank. turns out the thermostat was bad. it cost me 20 dollars at autozone and was easy to replace. hope this helps
the coolant capaci of a fiero is comparable to a large pick-up truck... about 4 gall.
How do you replace the alternator on a 1988 Pontiac Fiero
how do you replace side windows 85 fiero
where is the coolant temperature sensor locate
The reason behind the over heating of your fiero is the fact its an RMR layout and your cooling system is in the front end of the car. The time the coolant travels is not quick enought to cool the engine as fast as it is needed.
Assuming that your gauge is accurate, then you probably have a stuck thermostat in the open position that is not allowing the coolant to stay in the engine long enough to reach proper operating temp. Replace the thermostat or have a good mechanic do it for you.
Engine coolant fluid? Engine oil? Transmission oil? Brake fluid? Power steering fluid?
I am going to assume you mean timing belt. The Fiero does not come with a belt If the chain fails, there is usually no internal damage other than the chain, but the engine must be removed to service, unless you like doing it the hard way.
Fiero does not use a speedo cable There is an electronic sensor mounted on top of the transmission that both the engine computer and the speedo in the dash read to get the speed.
