There hasn't been any press releases nor any model changes concering the 17 HMR from Browning. Currently they offer the .17HMR in the T-Bolt model, but not the A-Bolt model. If you havent seen the T-Bolt, check the link below.

They are both very cheap rounds ment for pests and varments. The .22 cal shoots on average 1000fps on the other hand the .17 hmr will easily put out 2250fps Its all up to you and what you prefer have to say the .17 hmr is the better all around choice.
