Sometimes wood needs to be re varnished or restrained. To remove old varnish, you can use either a paint stripper or sand off the old varnish.
That's very difficult. You may have to sand it off.
Soak it in water for about an hour then it will peel off.
If you wish to remove silicone from wood, you should be able to just peel it off. It does not require a solvent. However, if you do need a solvent, I recommend vinegar.
Soften it with Goof Off, then scrape it with a wood spatula.
all you really need to is scrub with mineral spirit. it works on some tables and some it does not work. but just scrub and scrub and eventually it will come off.

I haven't tried it on wood but lighter fluid seems to get most things off. Acetone too, but it might damage the wood.
It depends on the type and sheen of the paint. If its a flat latex then your best bet is to Kiltz the area then repaint. A semi to hi-gloss should safely clean with a standard detergent
