fixtures that use double-ended lamps have two sockets usually porcelein one or both of the sockets are "spring-loaded" push into one of the sockets along the axis of the lamp and see if you feel spring tension. If not, push the other way. You may have to push hard against the spring until there is enough of a gap at the other end for the lamp end to tip out. For this reason you should wear leather gloves in case the lamp breaks in your fingers. Remember not to touch the new lamp with your bare fingers because the oil from your skin will damaged the lamp glass when it heats up

Changing a headlight There is a twist lock connection behind the light. Twist it counterclockwise to remove the fitting and halogen bulb. Remove the bulb by raising the locking clip with a small screwdriver and pulling the old bulb out. It has a double o-ring seal so it may be a little difficult to pull out. Replace with new halogen bulb. Do not touch new bulb glass as oils from your skin will cause a hot spot on the bulb and cause premature failure.
