The factory shift know is simply pressed into place. To remove the knob, pull on it.
If it's still on quite tight, you maybe need to firmly twist while pulling the shift knob. If all else fails, use a piece of leather to protect your know, and some channel lock pliers to work the knob back and forth until it is loose enough and can be removed.
