Pasteurization is the only way you can guarantee milk is safe. Although I am not going to dispute the claims about raw milk and it's nutrients, raw milk can pass on samonella, listeria, brucellosis, typhoid, E. Coli. This has been documented. A quick check of the reason Pasteur developed the proceedure will give you a history on this.
mustard mixed with water will make you throw up
"raw milk" is actually called milk or natural milk and "milk" is pasteurised milk. "raw milk" is milk which can contain bacteria and diseases which can harm you and "milk" is milk which is pasteurised to rid the bacteria and disease to make it safe for us to consume except for when it goes off and bacteria and disease want to come back.
If it's made with raw egg whites, then NO. Ask first
milks are fine to drink during pregnancy. Steer clear of soft cheese, shell fish, cold deli meats (fine if you cook them) soft serve ice cream (ice cream out of tub is fine) raw meats, raw eggs, alcohol, cigarettes, drugs. Obviously don't drink milk if it is sour or out of date, but if you do it won't harm your baby.
Permeate is produced by seperating raw milk into permeate and concentrate . It is not a by-product of milk product but rather a part of all milk . Any milk that claims to be permeate free simply isn't as permeate can be made from any milk , whether raw , homogenised or pasteurised .
NO! as a matter of fact, nutritionists have recently found that the fat in Whole Milk is vital to aid in digestion of the 12 grams of sugar in milk. ( That is Cows Milk we are referencing) Your body deals with raw organic whole milk the easiest but if you have to drink or use cows milk the whole milk is far better.
It's not illegal to drink it, it's illegal to sell it or buy it in some states. People use co-ops to get around this. But you should never drink raw milk. Even before pasteurizing, people in the olden days BOILED their milk 100% of the time before drinking to kill deadly bacteria. It's only in the past few decades some hippy raw milk movement started by one questionable person started making weird claims about false health benefits. There are no health benefits from raw milk. Cow antibodies in the milk only protect baby cows from COW diseases, they do not help humans in any way with any human diseases, nor do they benefit a human immune system. The only raw milk humans should drink is breast milk, as babies. People have died and people have had kidney failure after drinking raw milk. Yes there is a good chance it will be fine when you drink it, but there have been thousands of cases of illness and several deaths. It's playing Russian roulette every time you drink it. A healthy adult may be only sickened with diarrhea and vomiting and kidney disease after drinking it, while a child, elderly, or person who is sick may actually die unable to fend off the bacteria. Support your local farmers, buy local milk. But buy local pasteurized milk.
you cannot sell raw milk unless you mean powdered milk.
It does nothing .
Milk contains bacteria that cause tuberculosis and other diseases. When milk is heated to 85c, all of the tuberculosis bacteria and disease causing bacteria are killed, and most of the bacteria are killed that causes milk to spoil. So, it makes milk safe to drink. The process is called Pasteurization. That technique greatly reduced tuberculosis in the United States making it much lower than in places where people use raw milk.
Yes, if it has soured. Fresh raw milk does not smell sour. Soured raw milk is fine to use though.
If it has been made with a pasteurization process, definitely yes. If it is a raw milk method, it depends on how much you trust raw milk and your doctor's opinion about raw milk. It is very simple to make at home and every home method I've seen involves boiling the milk (pasteurization) as part of the process.
